Rio Grande Dual Calibrated Strat Set

The Rio Grande Dual Calibrated set combines a Vintage Tallboy, Halfbreed, and Muy Grande pickup for a great Neck/Middle/Bridge set that combines power and punchy in-between tones. Both the Halfbreed and the Muy Grande use slightly large magnets -- 5/32" on the Halfbreed and 1/4" on the Muy -- to provide greater output and fullness without relying just on additional windings. The result is a bigger fatter tone while retaining more single coil character than typical hot pickups. You can over-wind a single coil bobbin only so much before the sound turns to mud, but many manufacturers go beyond that point anyway. ANILCO 5 magnets 7.2/7.8/8.0K resistance.
