The Rio Grande Big Bottom Tele® set is the best of both worlds: Clear and distinct neck tones with a bigger bridge sound with strong midrange and smooth high highs.
The Muy Grande bridge pickup uses 1/4" magnets and a moderate bump in resistance to provide great lead tones without losing the classic characteristics that you demand. We checked one out in our Highway One Tele® test mule and found just what we were looking for: More mids, better pedal performance, and still plenty of Tele "snap" and response. There is a slight roll off in high frequency response, but you also lose the "icy" edge that can make the typical Tele pickup fatiguing over time. 8.5K ohms, Alnico V magnets, includes hardware and instructions.
The Rio Grande uncovered neck pickup brings traditional Tele® bell-like neck tones with less compression and better pick attack. For those who want more lead capability out of the neck position, the Rio Tele neck pickup has the classic tone with a little extra Texas punch. Deleting the plated pickup cover also provides additional string-to-string definition. Neck pickup is 7K ohms, Alnico V magnets.
