The Traynor DHX12 is a compact, easy to transport 1x12 cabinet that pairs very nicely with their Darkhorse and Ironhorse amplifiers. It is equipped with a Celestion Greenback G12M; a classic rock speaker known for its broad midrange, smooth top end and punchy attitude. It's classically British in nature, and has probably powered more classic rock hits than any other speaker.
A very handy feature of the DHX12 is its removable back panel that allows either open on closed back operation. Three thumb screws is all it takes to remove the panel, and the panel itself has a soft padded inner surface to prevent rattles and vibration. We liked the more vibrant, resonant feel of the open back configuration, but those who are looking for tight, punchy hard rock tones might just easily prefer the closed back mode. While you might expect it's relatively compact dimensions to limit low end response, the DHX12 held up well against our wider, deeper Tone Tubby pine 1x12's with Weber and G12H30 speakers. Actually we preferred the Traynor to the Weber 12F150-B and it was pretty comparable to the G12H30 in the bigger pine cab.
The DHX12 sounds good, is neatly constructed, and does everything you need a compact 1x12 to do.
