Takamine GN93CE Natural NEX Acoustic w/Takamine Gig Bag *Authorized Dealer*
The TAKAMINE GN93CE NEX shape acoustic sits atop the Takamine G series of affordable acoustic guitars. Featuring their "NEX" body shape, elegant maple wood binding and deluxe TK-40D electronics, the GN93CE checks a lot of boxes and delivers excellent performance superb playability at a great price.
Takamine's NEX body shape is essentially their take on the mini-jumbo shape. The generous rounded lower bout delivers great low end response, while the tight waist and narrow upper bout keeps the top end clear and present. Compared to a dreadnought, it's a more balanced frequency response with less midrange boom than your typical dreadnought. The Black Walnut back and sides adds more attack and top end than mahogany, and the center maple stripe is a really nice look. If there is a do-it-all guitar the GN93CE comes very close: The body shape produces enough low end to satisfy strummers, while the tight top and waist adds clarity and touch sensitivity. We dig it.
Takamine has always produced some of the nicest acoustic electric systems, and the up-market TK-40D system provides plenty of tone shaping options. Besides the usual 3-band EQ, it also has a mid-contour control clean up middle frequencies and an adjustable notch filter for rectifying resonant peaks and feedback issues. The TK-40D has plenty of high frequency response to make your acoustic sparkle in live situations, but the three EQ sliders have enough range to tackle any playing environment.
The Takamine G93CE is great for players that like a big sound that will cut through the mix, but nuanced enough for finger pickup and lighter styles of music.
