The Godin A4 Ultra Bass is what every bass player has been waiting for. Sporting a lace sensor pickup and individual piezo bridge sensors, the sonic possibilities are virtually endless. No matter what kind of group you're in, the A4 Ultra will make you the king of the rhythm section.

This is a Godin "SF" Factory Second guitar, which means a small cosmetic defect was found during inspection (see photo). Usually these blemishes are trivial. SF guitars carry a full factory warranty and you save some money. Photos are of the actual guitar.

In our experience, Godin has long been the premier name in hybrid acoustic/electric instruments. Most of their products are geared towards guitar players but the A4 Ultra Bass is a real treat. Upright basses are bulky and hard to haul, and it's tough to find any solid body that comes close to that sultry tone. With its two-part chambered body the A4 has a warm acoustic sound that will make your audience do a double take. The A4 features two ways to play: It has a Lace sensor pickup, and individual acoustic saddle transducers. Or a combination of both. Lace Sensor:

• Individual volume and tone controls that are idependent of the bridge transducer

The two pickup systems can be sent out independently or combined through the mix jack.

By blending the Lace pickup and bridge transducers the A4 can sound warm, woody and acoustic, or spanky and funky like an electric bass.
