Schecter Banshee Carbon Grey Electric Short Scale Bass - No Bag/Case
Short scale basses are a minority in the world of bass guitars, but some of the world's most famout bass players -- Paul McCartney and Jack Bruce come to mind -- are short scale (30") players. The Schecter Banshee is an affordable high quality option for a short-scale bass, and is great for crossover guitarists, players with smaller hands, and anyone who wants a full-sounding instrument in a smaller format.
The Schecter Banshee very much follows a shunken P-Bass format with a center-mounted pickup with oversize magnets. The Banshee has a good amount of output and high end content, and with the volume and tone full up there is a nice piano-like steeliness that sounds downright Jazz Bass. But roll off the tone control and you can easily get warmer, rounder tones more reminiscent of a P-Bass. The slim profile neck with 1.5" nut width feels downright guitar-like and will definitly appeal to guitar players, or those with smaller hands. The hardware is of very good quality, and the hefty bridge can be strung for both lower tension top loading or through the body for more sustain.
Due to their naturally lower string tension, about the only thing you can't do on a short scale bass is slap. But the tonality, comfort and sound quality of the Schecter Banshee makes playing a high quality great sounding bass more accessible than ever.
