JAM Pedals Dyna-ssor Compressor/Sustainer Guitar Pedal

Meet the JAM Pedals Dyna-ssor Compressor/Sustainer, a hand-built analog tribute to two of the most influential stompbox compressors ever made: the MXR Dyna Comp and the Ross Compressor. When the Dyna Comp arrived in the early 1970s, with the Ross following later in the decade, guitarists finally had studio-style squeeze in a pedal they could put on the floor. Before that, getting compression on your guitar meant plugging into big rack-mounted units in a recording studio, where compression had long been essential for balancing the dynamics of individual tracks and full mixes. Once designers began voicing compressor circuits specifically for guitar, the sound of country chicken pickin', funk rhythm, and singing lead tones changed for good.

JAM is known for its devotion to new old stock (NOS) components, and the Dyna-ssor is a perfect example. At its heart is a rare NOS CA3080 chip, the same component that powered both the original Ross and Dyna Comp circuits, giving you a smooth, juicy swell at just about any setting of the Sustain knob. The controls are as simple and effective as those of its forefathers, with just Level and Sustain. Whether you want classic Nashville squash, snappy funk rhythm parts, or screaming Trey Anastasio style sustain, the Dyna-ssor hits the sweet spot and everywhere in between.

With just two knobs and a musical response at every setting, the Dyna-ssor is an easy first step into compression and a worthy upgrade for seasoned players. Each one is handmade and hand-painted in Athens, Greece, and JAM pedals are favored by John Scofield, Julian Lage, Bill Frisell, Nels Cline, Andy Timmons, and Steve Lukather.
