JAM Pedals Wahcko Mk.1 Wah Guitar Pedal
This is the Mk.1 guitar pedal with the original Red Fasel inductor. It is now discontinued and available at a special savings while they last!
The JAM Pedals Wahcko Mk.1 Wah delivers classic wah character with boutique build quality and modern flexibility. Built around six selectable sweep voicings, carbon comp resistors, and a RED Fasel inductor inspired by late-’60s Cry Baby circuits, it serves up everything from vocal vintage sweep to focused, funky bite. Handmade in Athens, Greece, the Wahcko has the rugged feel, musical range, and analog soul that have made JAM Pedals a favorite with serious players worldwide.
JAM’s reputation is built on carefully selected NOS components and a deep love of analog circuits, so it’s no surprise that the Wahcko traces its inspiration to the golden era of late-’60s wah design. Rather than chasing a generic vintage sound, JAM went straight for the good stuff: the 1969 Italian Cry Baby by Jen Elettronica, the model associated with the RED Fasel inductor. Those pedals became classics for their expressive sweep, throaty midrange, and smooth top end, and the Wahcko starts from that foundation before opening the door to a wider range of tones.
The six-position voice selector works like a musical Q and EQ control in one, reshaping the sweep, emphasis, and overall response of the pedal. It can move from bright, percussive early-’70s funk textures to cocked-wah rock snarl, then on to broader, more spacious tones that feel right at home in modern jam and fusion settings.
This Wahcko version features JAM’s latest upgraded guitar circuit for even more refined performance. As a true custom shop, JAM also offers custom artwork, multi-pedal builds, and select upgrades on certain units. The Wahcko+ can be ordered with the optional “Seagull” switch—a nod to Pink Floyd’s “Echoes”—or even point-to-point wiring for an added dose of vintage-style craftsmanship. Bottom line: this is a wildly fun, incredibly expressive wah that looks great, feels solid underfoot, and delivers the kind of inspiring sweep players keep coming back to.
