After almost 4 years of intense R&D, the ECCOS is ready to shock the masses. Keeley Electronics has always specialized in packing multiple functions and massive tones in small packages, and their latest delay pedal is another great example. The ECCOS offers a hot new take on flanged tape delay that we're calling "Neo-Vintage" for its ability to lend itself to both old and new school applications. In addition to typical delay parameters, Keeley gives you primary and secondary delay controls, 3 preset options and a fully functional looper, all available in mono or stereo usage! When you take into account the fact that it takes up no more real estate than a typical overdrive pedal, it's clear that the ECCOS changes the equation.
At first glance, you might be thinking "But how could you access all of these features on such a simple layout?". It's actually very easy thanks to a clear and concise instruction manual provided with each pedal and intuitive controls. The key factor for the delay functions is the feedback knob. It doubles as an "alternate" push button that gives you control of the flanger time, modulation style, tone control, regeneration and subdivisions. Once you dial in your favorite tones you simply use the bypass and tap switches to place and save presets.
While Keeley stocked their pedal with three totally different delay styles, it's also a looper's paradise. The transition to looping is as easy as flicking the mini toggle selector and using the bypass and tap switches just like most looper pedals out there. One click to start, one click to run your loop, one click to overdub, hold to delete a take, etc. The reverse/half speed function of the tap switch is super fun and useful for quick songwriting, idea hashing or just experimental bliss. As big fans of Keeley's previous delay pedals, we love the unique take the ECCOS offers on the lush sound of modulated tape. It all depends on how you tweak it: Whether you like it perfectly subtle or out-of-this-world ethereal it's guaranteed to inspire. For our Keeley fanatics who want the fine print here are the particulars:
