Maxon OD808X Overdrive Extreme Tubescreamer pedal made in Japan

More of a good thing is usually better, and if your TS-style pedal does not quite get you where you want to go, the Maxon OD808X Overdrive Extreme Tube Screamer is ready to push things a little further. Made by the company that invented the Tube Screamer, the OD808X takes the classic circuit and tunes it for harder clipping, more gain, and less of that mid-focused bump, so even at higher drive levels your notes stay clear and distinct.

Maxon (Nisshin Onpa) got started in the 1960s, with some of its earliest products being pickups made mainly for Ibanez and Greco. The “Super 70s” pickups found in early Ibanez Les Paul-style guitars were, in fact, made by Maxon. Maxon later branched into effects and designed the TS808 for Ibanez. The rest, as they say, is history.
