Walrus Audio Fundamental Series: Drive Pedal

While multi-effects units continue to grow in popularity and capabilities, at the shop we are all still dedicated "pedalboard guys." The range of choices and options in individual effects is simply too attractive to pass up. As well as the ability change your mind, or assemble multiple boards for special purposes.

But assembling a pedalboard can be choice overload, and can also get pretty expensive. The Walrus Audio Fundamental Series of effects are a great starting point (or destination) for putting together a reliable, high-quality effects setup. Then Fundamental Series covers all the "core" effects that anybody could want, and all are priced at just $99. Great for starting a new board, or where you need "that sound" for certain songs but don't want to spend big bucks. All Fundamental pedals run on 9VDC tip-negative power, and are designed and assembled by Walrus Audio in Oklahoma.

In the words of Walrus Audio about the Fundamental Drive:

The Fundamental Drive is a versatile overdrive that allows for a wide range of tones thanks to its three-mode switch. This is the perfect tool at the front of your chain to set the tone for your whole rig.

Gain – The Gain slider sets the amount of gain applied to your guitar signal passing through the overdrive circuit.

Tone – The Tone slider controls the amount of high-frequency level reduction.

Volume – The Volume slider sets the overall output volume of the pedal.

Slide Switch – The slide switch allows you to change between three distinct flavors of the pedal. Each position has different clipping modes or tone profiles.

Smooth - A classic soft-clipping silicon overdrive. Clean and smooth.
Crunch - Silicon soft clipping with added hard clipping silicon diodes and a slight low-end boost. Crunchy and edgy.
Bright - Silicon soft and hard clipping from the Crunch mode with a pre-clipping low-end cut. Bright and glassy.
