PorterTron AlNiCo "Filter" FilterTron Set, Chrome

The original Gretsch FilterTron pickup is a favorite of country and rockabilly players, and is know for it's chime, twang, and sparkly crunch when pushed. While the design is very similar to the larger Gibson humbucker pickup, the smaller bobbins and narrow coil spacing makes it naturally brighter, with a nice snap and attack.

The PorterTron AlNiCo FilterTron set replaces the bar magnets with Alnico 5 pole pieces for increased clarity, attack and note separation. It's "Filter-ish" but with an extra dose of chime for those who dig single coils but want something with a bit more punch and crunch. Also a great way to wake up a dark sounding guitar or amp. Neck pickup is wound to about 5K ohms, and the bridge ~6K ohms. 'Tron sized pickups physically cannot hold as many windings as a standard humbucker coil, so don't assume they are low output pickups.
