Seymour Duncan Lari Basilio Tele Middle Pickup - Chrome Cover

While the Lari Basilio pickups are intended to be installed as a three pickup set, they are available individually. We discovered a happy accident with the Lari Basilio middle pickup. Sized the same as a Tele neck pickup, but with an open top, it makes a great neck pickup for those looking for a little more "Strat" from there Tele and better attack and note separation. The open top eliminates the capacitive load of the cover, and it uses Alnico 5 magnets on the low strings for attack, and Alnico 2 under the plain strings for smoothness. We've put it in one of our own Telecasters (actually a G&L ASAT) and really like it. It has enough Tele tone to sound authentic, but a greater helping of bite and clarity that resolves the most common gripe about the neck position. Well worth checking out.

When she needed pickups that would showcase her technical and melodic playing, Lari Basilio came to Seymour Duncan to collaborate on a signature set. The results are a Tele®-style single coil neck pickup with a unique middle pickup, which is Strat®-style voiced in a Tele®-style rhythm-sized footprint. 

The single coils feature Alnico 5 magnets under the low strings. Alnico 4 magnets sit under the high strings of the neck pickup, and Alnico 2 magnets are under the high strings of the middle pickup.
