Seymour Duncan SHPR-1 P-Rails Humbucker Set w/LP Triple Shot Pickup Set

Who says you can't have it all? The Duncan SHPR-1 P-Rails come surprisingly close. We first discovered these pickups in a couple Godin guitar models and were extremely impressed with how they sounded. While do-it-all pickups require some compromise, the P-Rails in our opinion really nailed the P-90 tone and was probably our favorite position. The single coil setting maybe did not have the chime of a true Strat pickup, but sounded leagues better than most split humbuckers. The humbucker can be set in series or parallel mode, and in series mode it's pretty hefty sounding, sitting somewhere between their 59 and Sentient in the neck, and the 59 and JB in the bridge. In series mode it's more jangly and crisp and is a unique sound all it's own.

Best of all the triple shot pickup rings (curved for LP type guitars) have (2) built in selector switches so the rail pickup, P-90, or humbucker are selected at the ring. This makes wiring as simple as connecting a normal pickup and keeping the current 3-way pickup switch. With the two mini switches you get the option of:

- Single coil rail
- P-90
- Humbucker series
- Humbucker pararell

Factor in the 3-way switch on most HH guitars and you've got 24 possible pickup combinations!

There are a lot of great sounds to be mined with the P-Rails. Don't get hung up on what each position is supposed "to be"....just enjoy the myriad of sounds available.

The bridge and neck P-Rails can each be split to give you an authentic P90, or it can be split to the Rail coil for Strat like tone. With both coils on, you get a big sounding humbucker that packs a nice full punch. The neck pickup in this set is RWRP (reverse wind, reverse polarity) so you are hum- free when using any single coil in the neck with one in the bridge. Combine them in any combo you want. Available with arched rings to be used on a guitar with a Les Paul-style carved topm or with flat rings for other guitars.
