Seymour Duncan STR-3 Quarter Pound Tele Neck Pickup - Nickel
If you have always struggled with finding the right Tele neck pickup, you are not alone. The original Tele neck pickup was intended mimic a bass guitar (the solid body bass was a few year's away) and while today's Tele pickups are nothing like that, they often lean towards a compressed tone that can get easily buried in the the mix. The Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Tele pickup uses 1/4" Alnico V magnets and an overwound coil for fat, punchy tones that will give your Tele a new attitude. A beefy tone -- but not a high output pickup -- and it will mix both with standard Tele bridge pickups or the companion Quarter Pound Tele bridge.
In the words of Seymour Duncan...
The Quarter Pound for Tele Rhythm’s custom overwound coil provides a powerful midrange that cuts through any mix without sounding bright or brash. This makes it a rhythm beast with huge sounding chords, and full, fat lead tones.
