Finished just in time for the 2025 NAMM show, the G&L Custom Shop produced three icon inspired guitars...and we liked the red one. The inspiration is pretty clear, and this Icon Inspired Red Splatter EVH features all the touches of the that era along with the flawless attention to detail and workmanship we've come to expect from the Custom Shop. 

While the guitar has a "shredder" look, the Heritage '86 neck profile and nut width are more akin to the Fender-based guitars of the time rather than the flat/thin profiles of the Japanese Super Strats. The hand-rubbed Birdseye fretboard is a nice touch, as is the custom headstock shape. The G&L AW4470 pickup is a G&L-built pickup inspired by the Seymour Ducan JB, although to our ears a little smoother with a less sharp top end. Optimized for longer scale bolt-on guitars, it's got a strong output but still lets your amp do the heavy lifting. 

For lovers of 80's music, guitar collectors or fans of G&L, this Icon Inspired Custom Shop guitar will be a great addition to any collection, or equally happy living its best life on the stage.
