Z G&L Legacy Greenburst 2022 Electric Guitar w/Hardshell Case *Authorized Dealer*

In 1954 Leo Fender introduced what was to become the world's most popular electric guitar. Unimaginably futuristic when released, the G&L Legacy is Leo Fender's evolutionary continuation of his most famous guitar design, featuring meaningful improvements such as G&L's Dual Fulcrum Vibrato, and Passive Bass and Treble controls. Finshed in not-so-common Greenburst on Swamp Ash, this is Legacy sounds as good as it looks.

This is a 2022 like-new mint condition floor model with all paperwork and original case. It has not been previously sold or left the shop.

This G&L Legacy features:

  • Greenburst on Swamp Ash, 7.4 pounds
  • 3-ply White Pearl pickguard
  • Modern Classic neck, 9.5" radius, 1-11/16 nut width
  • Light tint satin finish hard rock maple neck
  • Rosewood fretboard
  • Medium jumbo frets
  • White Pearl Face Dots
  • G&L split and drilled tuners
  • Bone nut
  • G&L CLF-100 Alnico 5 single-coil neck pickup
  • G&L CLF-100 Alnico 5 single-coil rev-wound middle pickup
  • G&L CLF-100 Alnico 5 single-coil bridge pickup
  • 5-position blade selector, volume, treble, bass
  • Deluxe Tolex G&G hardshell case
  • Made in Fullerton, CA

Greenburst often gets overlooked as a finish option, but the transparent green-to-black looks especially great with a pearl pickguard. Visually, Swamp Ash is the wood of choice for clear finishes, but it also gives the Legacy a slightly different sonic footprint than the more common Alder. A little less punchy than Alder, Swamp Ash has a smoother more refined top end and a slightly scooped midrange.

The G&L Legacy is equipped with (3) G&L Alnico V flat pole pickups that are wound in the low 6K-ohm range. This correlates to an early 60's specification, and while not as glassy as the later 60's CBS-era pickups, they have a little more kick and a less edgy nature. While not by any means a high output pickup, they have sufficient midrange content to drive distortion pedals nicely and produce fat chunky blues tones. The tones are classically "Strat" in nature but a little huskier. Guitars of this type can sometimes be a little too bright, quacky and brittle, and the Swamp Ash body smooths out and sweetens the high end.

In relation to tonal capabilities, the G&L DF Vibrato is also noteworthy. Rather than the traditional Strat design that hinges on a few wood screws, it is an improved mechanism that floats the bridge on two adjustable hardened steel studs mounted in large brass body anchors. This type of floating mechanism allows the player to bend notes upward or downward with very good tuning stability. Paired with the versatile Legacy pickups, there are endless possibilities for soaring sound creations.

Lastly, the passive treble and bass controls do just that, allowing both bass and treble roll off. Need to lean out the neck pickup for some percussive funk riffs? Now you can do that. Most tone controls only take out highs, but the G&L's PTB system you have full control.

The G&L Legacy is more than just a copy of an original. For a very reasonable street price you get the type of fit, finish, hardware, and high quality electronics that makes a guitar feel crafted, not just assembled. Whether you are a pro or serious hobbyist, the G&L Legacy is a guitar that won't let you down.
