Godin ACS Nylon Cedar Natural SG SF A/E w/ Deluxe Gig Bag *Authorized Dealer*

Featuring both 1/4" out and 13-Pin output for Roland GR® synths and other 13 pin devices, the Godin ACS Nylon provides outstanding tone and flexibility for both recording and performing. With its thick Cedar top and maple back, the ACS Nylon is the perfect feedback-free solution that is indispensable for performers, composers and studio players.

This is a Godin "SF" guitar with slight blemishes. It's a great opportunity to get a new guitar with warranty at a savings.

The Godin Nylon ACS Cedar is a great guitar for live performances and recording and features:

  • Solid Cedar Top, natural finish
  • Maple Body
  • Mahogany Neck with 16" radius Richlite® composite fingerboard
  • 1.9" width at the nut
  • Custom RMC active electronics with 6 saddle transducers
  • 13-pin output for Roland compatible synthesizers
  • Standard 1/4" output jack
  • 3 Band active active EQ with selectable midrange point
  • Built in synth blend and up/down selection controls
  • Schaller strap lock buttons
  • Approximately 7 pounds
  • Includes deluxe Godin padded gig bag

The Godin ACS line has been around for a few years, but still occupies a unique position in the electro-acoustic market. Because the body is essentially solid, it does not use a body mic, but instead 6 individual piezo transducer saddles. The thick Cedar top has a smooth satin finish that resists fingerprints and smudges. The standard 1.9" nut width will feel totally familiar to nylon players and the neck profile is a relatively shallow "C", making it easy to reach around for chords or finger picking. The finish and feel of the neck is smooth and comfortable, and the Richlite® composite fingerboard provides nice snap, and is an eco-friendly alternative to ebony. The hard, smooth Richlite surface also provides accurate tracking for the synthesizer output.

Running Hughes & Kettner ERA-1 acoustic amplifier, the Nylon ACS provided very nice note definition and great string-to-string clarity. The sound was detailed without a hint of mud or murkiness, no doubt due to individual bridge saddle transducers. The 3-band EQ offers a broad range of boost and cut, with minimal crackly treble artifacts that often accompanies piezo type transducers. The selectable midrange peak switch is handy for fine tuning the critical midrange frequencies for specific sound systems. Whether single note picking or strumming, notes are percussive, defined and articulate, which is the hallmark of the RMC electronics. It even sounds great even plugged straight into our Fender Bassman. Like most electrified acoustic instruments, a little signal conditioning is helpful, and we like to use a BBE Sonic Stomp or similar product.

The 13-pin Roland compatible-synth output transforms the ACS from mere electrified nylon to personal orchestra. Whether it's piano, saxophone or other synthesized tone, the ability to add an additional instrument and even blend it with the nylon sound makes the ACS Nylon a killer tool for solo performers. Whether you use the synthesizer or not, the natural sounding tone, comfortable fit, and easy playability make the Godin ACS Nylon an affordable and indispensable tool for performers and composers.
