Godin has been a leader in electro-acoustic hybrids from decades, and still occupies a unique position in this market. The recently released Multiac Mundial is an affordable, high-quality chambered nylon guitar for both live performance and for those who prefer a slimmer body nylon that has enough volume for un-amplified practice.
This is a Godin "SF" product which means a slight cosmetic defect (see photos). These cosmetic imperfections are typically trivial and Godin SF guitars offer a great value, and the full Godin limited lifetime warranty.
Available only in solid finishes, the Mundial is a nice alternative to the more costly Multiac ACS Nylon, which is essentially a solid body nylon with the added expense of the 13-pin synth output, and the Multiac Nylon Encore (with which it shares the same electronics). Like its siblings the Mundial still uses a solid cedar top and chambered maple body. Instead of Mahogany, the neck is Spanish Cedar, which is not actually Spanish, but is a Mahogany relative native to South and Central America. Without the synth access option, Godin has gone back to a Rosewood fretboard instead of the more expensive Richlite, a composite Ebony substitute. Godin has always had an eye for color, and the available solid finishes are both colorful and classy at the same time.
Joining the body at the 16th fret, the Mundial has the basic layout of an electric guitar, but the 1.9" nut and neck profile is more classical than traditional acoustic in nature. That being said, the neck depth is comfortably slim such that non-nylon players won't find the additional width bothersome. The chambered body has plenty of resonance, making it perfectly acceptable for unplugged playing, but more importantly the Godin dual source electronics are a high-end touch for a guitar in this price range. Using both body sensors and an under-saddle piezo with a blend control, the Mundial has a very natural sounding amplified tone, no doubt aided by the chambered body. The traditional Godin 3-band EQ provides for ample tone tweaking.
Cost increases the past few years have not been kind to the Multiac line, and the Godin Mundial is a great addition that puts the quality and utility of the Godin hybrid nylon family back within reach of many players.
The Multiac Mundial is a great value for a hybrid nylon electric/acoustic and features:

In words of Godin....
Thirty years ago, we introduced the Multiac Nylon SA, which quickly became a worldwide success and the flagship instrument of Godin Guitars. Since then, we have continued to innovate in order to offer multiple versions of the Multiac to satisfy the maximum number of musicians on the planet. For 2023, we are extremely proud to introduce the new Godin Multiac Mundial.
Available in a variety of colors, the Multiac Mundial is manufactured in our Canadian factories with the same high standards as our other instruments. A more modern and stylish variation of our other Multiacs, this nylon string guitar is the result of years of research and development. The Multiac Mundial is distinguished by the wood used (Silver Leaf Maple body, Cedar top, and Spanish Cedar neck), making it an ultra-light instrument, ideal for stage musicians or travelers. The Godin Double Source Custom preamp, the same as on the Encore models, allows you to mix the undersaddle pickup with the sensors in the guitar for maximum versatility. To achieve the most natural acoustic sound possible, we’ve returned to our hollow-body design, so the guitar is lighter, breathes, and resonates without feedback.
If you are looking for a clean, uncluttered instrument with a natural amplified nylon string sound, look no further. The Godin Multiac Mundial is here, waiting for you.
