The the name Mini Jumbo may sound like an oxymoron (like "Jumbo Shrimp") it's a guitar shape that has many enticing qualities. The Seagull Performer CW Mini Jumbo is a great example of what makes this shape so versatile. And being a Seagull, it's also expertly crafted and a great value.

The secret of the Mini Jumbo shape is the combination of a large rounded lower bout similar in size to a Dreanaught combined with a tight waist and narrow top similar to a concert guitar. This mash-up of sizes combines the sensisivity and high end response of a smaller bodied guitar with the depth of a Dreadnaught. Strummers will dig the volume and projection, while songwriters will appreciate its more nuanced capabilities. And the narrow top and waist makes it more comfortable to play than a boxier Dreadnaught. 

And while maple guitars get a rap for being overly bright and lacking complexity, it's a material tailor made for the Mini Jumbo shape. The natural brightness and attack of maple is tempered by the generous lower bout, creating a great balance of warmth and clarity. The Fishman Presys electronics is a straightforward but capable system, and the balanced response of the Performer makes it easy to dial in, and a great performance guitar. 

And as with any Seagull guitar it features a pressure tested top, thin breathable finish that allows the guitar to improve with age, and a kerfed headstock construction for additional strength. And speaking of headstock, the Seagull "pointy" headstock is not just to be different. The shape and tuner alignment allows the strings to come straight through the nut for optimal tuning stability.
