The Schecter Reaper-6 will let you release your inner hard rock desires without breaking the bank. With its lightweight Swamp Ash body and Burl top it looks like a million bucks. And the 14" radius slim profile Maple/Walnut neck is carbon reinforced for extra stability. The smoothly sculpted heel of the set net gives excellent access to all 24 frets, and everything about this guitar says, "Go fast, play hard."
The Schecter Decimator pickups sound ominous enough, and utilize ceramic magnets for high efficiency and quick attack. And while the output is pretty high, their frequency response is commendably flat with no harsh midrange bump or overly metallic highs. Roll off the volume a little they take on a more relaxed nature and are not adverse to mellower clean in tones. Ceramic pickups tend to have good string separation and note definition, which makes the Decimator neck pickup particularly clean and percussive, especially when not wide open. If you think neck pickups can get too muddy, the Reaper-6 is a pleasant surprise.
If you are in a wide ranging cover band, the Reaper can cover a lot of ground (OK, maybe not funk). Or you can chug your way to musical nirvana. The Schecter Reaper 6 is fully capable of both.
