Seagull S6 Original Slim Presys II Dreadnaught A/E - No Bag/Case

Back in 1982 Robert Godin started building the first Seagull guitars in La Patrie, Quebec and created a community of artisans focused on creating sustainable, high-quality guitars for hobbyists and working musicians. The Seagull S6 dates to the early days of Seagull, and the S6 Slim features a 1.72" nut width along with the high level of fit and finish that we've come to expect from our friends in Canada.

The Seagull S6 is an exceptional choice for any guitar player on a budget. The Dreadnought shape provides plenty of projection and low-end response, and the laminate cherry back and sides gives it a snappy attack that is similar to maple, but more complex. The solid cedar top adds a touch of warmth and an already broken-in tone, which is what we love about cedar. Cowboy chords really pack a punch, and the upper register has plenty of attack for adventurous leads. The 1.72" wide Slim Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard is a relatively shallow C that is comfortable for smaller sized hands or those more accustomed to electric guitars. Using Maple as the neck material instead of Mahogany helps keep the cost down and plays a part in the guitar's crisp high end response. It's a Dreadnaught, but snappier and less midrange-heavy than many other guitars of this ilk.

The well-known and thoroughly capable Fishman Presys II electronics is an easy to use 2-band system with built-in tuner and phase switch. It's performance using our Traynor Studio 60 acoustic amp was without drama and has plenty of tone shaping capability. For an affordable piezo system, it sounds very natural and free of brittle high-end quack. Plus, the battery access is on the outside of the guitar, making battery changes quick and contortion-free.
