The Seagull S6 is a blessing for any guitar player on a budget, and the Tennessee Red finish is a nice change of pace. Plus the satin finish resists smudges and fingerprints which are the bane of any dark-colored guitar. Tonally, this S6 took us by happy surprise. The Dreadnought shape provides plenty of projection and low end response, and the laminate cherry back and sides gives it a snappy attack that is similar to maple, but less dry sounding. The solid cedar top adds a touch of warmth and an already broken-in tone, which is what we like about cedar. Cowboy chords really pack a punch and the upper register has plenty of attack for adventurous leads. The 1.8" wide Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard is a relatively shallow C that is comfortable even for smaller sized hands. Using Maple as the neck material instead of Mahogany helps keep the cost down, and also plays a part in the guitar's crisp high end response. For the bedroom, campfire or coffeehouse, the Seagull S6 Tennessee Red is artfully crafted and affordably priced. As Godin dealers we have come to expect high quality products from Canada, and the Seagull S6 is no exception.
