The Takamine GN30CE NEX shape acoustic sits squarely in the midrange of the Takamine G-series lineup. Featuring their "NEX" body shape, solid spruce top and their proprietary Takamine electronics, the GN30CE is a great playing guitar and an excellent value.

Takamine's NEX body shape is essentially their take on the mini-jumbo shape. The generous rounded lower bout delivers great low end response, while the tight waist and narrow upper bout keeps the top end clear and present. Compared to a dreadnought, it's a more balanced frequency response with less midrange boom than your typical dreadnought. The Mahogany back and sides provides the warm midrange that Mahognay is known for. The mini-jumbo shape is really a jack-of-all-trades guitar: The body shape produces enough low end to satisfy strummers, while the tight top and waist adds clarity and touch sensitivity. 

In the late 70's Takamine pioneered high quality built-in electronics, and they continue to use their own electronics exclusively. The built-in TP-4TD electronics features a top-access battery box for easy replacement, 3-band EQ and a built in tuner. It's basic but effective, and provides a very natural sound with none of the brittleness and quack of some affordable piezo systems.

The Takamine GN30CE is ideal for players that like the big sound of a mahogany dreadnaught, but with a more responsive touch, and a top end that cuts through the mix better,
