During the 70's and 80's Japan produced a ton of really fine acoustic guitars, and many of them are still out their making music. This 1988 Alvarez 12-String is an excellent example of what we think was a golden age for Japanese acoustic guitars. In very good condition with minimal playing wear and a lovely original case.

This guitar has stood the test of time remarkably well with no major dings, dents or scratches. There are some light marks right near the bridge pins, probably from the owner using a peg winder tool to pop the bridge pins out. But the finish is intact and not scratched. Overall the guitar presents very well, and other than the nice darkening of the spruce top finish, you would not know the guitar is over thirty years old. And old acoustics sound better, and continue to get better. And this guitar sounds great: Big, rich, with lots of chime and a balanced response. Sit down with it and try not to play "Wish You Were Here" I dare you. If you are yearning to add a 12-string to your collection, it's hard to do better than this, especially for the price.
