The Stratocaster was Fender's follow up to his iconic "plank" Telecaster; the world's first mass-produced solid body electric guitar. Intended to be more comfortable, easier to manufacture and with a wider range of tones, there was simply nothing else like the Strat when it was launched in 1954. One of the greatest and most enduring American industrial designs, this 2001 Fender American Stratocaster is true to the original, but with selected refinements to create an even greater playing experience.

This 2001 Stratocaster is in excellent condition with no chips, nicks, dents or dings. There is no significant fret wear, and it's been thoroughly checked out, tested, and is ready for its next life.

The Stratocaster formula is tried and true -- like real Coke -- but for their non vintage-reissue product Fender has made sensible updates to make playing and maintaining easier. The staggered height Alnico pickups have a hotter wound bridge pickup for better output and a less brittle top end. There is a top adjust truss rod (your tech will thank you), a micro-tilt neck, two-point floating tremolo replacing the original six wood screws, a tone control for the bridge pickup, and machined steel saddles. Other than that it's pure Fender Strat, which is the point. Few designs have remained so true to the original as the Fender Stratocaster, and for short money you can get a real American Fender Strat with a top end molded TSA style case.
