USED Framus 5/150 Star Bass Black Rose 1965 Electric Bass w/Gig Bag

From Germany, Framus has a long history of musical instrument production dating from just after WWII to the factory closing in 1975. In the early days of rock 'n roll British bands may have lusted after US gear, but were just as likely to play more affordable instruments from the UK and the Continent. The Framus 5/150 Star Bass earned notariety by being used by Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones. Wyman favored short scale basses which may have been a selling feature of the Star Bass, and the skinny 1-3/8" wide nut makes it even easier to navigate. 

This 1965 Star Bass is in very good condition with the most noticeable scratch/mark being on the back (see photos). There are other minors nicks and signs of handling, but overall very good for a 60 year-old bass. The multi-laminate neck is straight and plays well and the one-way truss rod is functional. Electronics also check out good and like every bass of the era it's fitted with flat wound strings. It's got the thumpy woody tone of true Hollow-Body bass and plays effortlessly. 

For a great piece of history that could also be a daily player, this Framus 5/150 will not disappoint.
