Introducing an iconic addition to our used selection: The Fender American Professional Jazz Bass. This 2-pickup masterpiece was Leo Fender's follow up to the legendary Precision Bass and the Corona factory is keeping the magic alive today. This 2017 model came from a local customer who was looking to get into the 5-string world and now you have the chance to get a super clean California Fender at a great price. It may say Jazz bass on it, but through its history it has been the go-to bass for legendary players across all genre's, find out why today.

This guitar has been meticulously taken care of and the only change from stock is a thumb rest. Includes original case and paperwork.

This Fender American Professional Jazz Bass Features:

  • Alder body, 9.0 pounds
  • Glossy black finish
  • Gloss finish maple neck, graphite reinforced
  • Tall narrow frets
  • Slim C Neck profile
  • Bone nut
  • V-mod pickups
  • Combo string-thru/top load bridge
  • Deluxe molded case
  • All paperwork and certs
Introduced in 1960, the Fender Jazz bass was Leo Fender's deluxe bass model, with a fully contoured body and a narrow neck meant to appeal to upright bass players (hence the "jazz" moniker). The bass became a hit, but not necessarily with jazz players. The punchy, piano like clean tones and increased high end response found favor in particular with funk and slap players, although jazz fusion bassist Jaco Pastorius was notable Jazz Bass player.

The Fender American Professional Jazz Bass does not stray from the original Jazz Bass formula, but does include some thoughtful improvements. The V-Mod pickups use an Alnico 5/2 blend (high to low) for snappy highs and warm lows, the "Hi-Mass" bridge provides a solid anchoring point that allows both string-thru and top load configurations, and the slim C neck profile is comfortable and fast from top to bottom. Smartly priced when new, they are a particularly good value on the used market. For a USA-built Fender bass at a great price (and with a very nice case) the Fender American Professional Jazz Bass is hard to pass up.
