Used Friedman PT-20 "Pink Taco" 20 Watt Amp Head

Add to Cart
Here's a special little beast that recently came through our doors. The Friedman PT-20 "Pink Taco" is a hand-wired, single channel amplifier that is designed to deliver the force of a 100-watt punch in a compact package that's perfect for the studio and stage. Now that most clubs and venues have real PA-systems, amps keep shrinking in size and wattage. While some folks might miss the nostalgia of towering 100 watt amps with 400 pound cabinets, the PT-20 will prove to your ears (and your back) that a new age has come for the better.

This was traded to us by a regular customer and friend who takes very good care of his gear. He primarily plays at home so there are no scratches, dings or dents on the amp.

The Friedman PT-20 features:
  • 20 watt All-Tube Head
  • Single Channel
  • Hand-wired in the USA
  • Preamp Tubes: 12AX7
  • Power Tubes: 2x EL84
  • EQ: Bass, Middle, Treble, Master, Gain
  • Speaker Outs: 1x16 ohm, 2x8 ohm
  • Ultra Transparent Series Effects Loop
  • Size: 8.5"(H), 18" (W) , 8" (D)
  • Weight: 19.6 lbs.

Hailing from Detroit Michigan, Dave Friedman is a legend in the boutique amp world thanks to 25 years of modding and building amps for rock stars like Eddie Van Halen, Steve Stevens, Jerry Cantrell, Dave Grohl, Neil Schon, Doug Rappaport, Phil X, Pete Thorn and countless others (those were just our personal favorites off the list). This amp is technically the little sister of his BE-100, using custom transformers and the cleanest possible signal path for no-nonsense rock n' roll. If you're a rocker of any kind, you know that Friedman has got your back but at this wattage, it also makes a wonderful platform for blues and roots rock. The clean sound is equally impressive, with fat low end, punchy mids and the bright, tight chime you'd expect from an EL-84 workhorse. If you've been looking to get into the world of boutique amps, the PT-20 is a perfect "toe-dipper" and this mint condition model comes at a great price.
