Takamine GB30CE CW Spruce/Mahogany Natural Acoustic/Electric Bass - No Bag/Case

Mint condition display model, never sold or left the shop.

Takamine has been a trusted name on stage since the company started building guitars near the foot of Mount Takamine in Japan back in 1962, and its pioneering work with onboard acoustic electronics made it a favorite of touring artists for decades. The Takamine GB30CE brings that same plug-in-and-play confidence to the low end. Part of Takamine's popular G Series, this 4-string acoustic electric bass pairs a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides in a roomy jumbo cutaway body, then adds the TK-40B preamp so you are ready for the coffee shop, the rehearsal room, or the studio.

The acoustic bass really found its spotlight when the unplugged craze of the 1990s put stripped-down sets in front of a whole generation of listeners, and it has been a go-to for songwriters, worship teams, and jam sessions ever since. The jumbo body delivers a full, round low end you can hear in the room, while the cutaway opens up easy access to the upper reaches of the 21-fret rosewood fingerboard. The 34" scale will feel instantly familiar to electric bass players, and the slim mahogany neck with a 1.77" nut keeps things comfortable through long sets. Want a warm, upright-style thump? Try a set of flatwound or nylon tapewound strings and you will be in vintage territory in no time.

Plugged in, the TK-40B preamp gives you a built-in chromatic tuner, 3-band EQ with a sweepable mid-frequency control, a bass boost switch, and an EQ bypass, so taming feedback in a tricky room or fine-tuning your tone for a recording session is quick work. The battery compartment is easy to reach for fast swaps between sets. Whether your music leans toward folk, bluegrass, country, or alt rock, the Takamine GB30CE acoustic bass guitar is an affordable, great-sounding way to add that woody acoustic low end to your sound.
