USED Ovation Applause AE-36 Greyburst late 70's Acoustic-Electric Guitar w/HSC

Kaman Music, the Connecticut company behind Ovation, created the Applause line to bring Ovation's signature roundback design to players at a friendlier price point. The line debuted in 1975 as the Ovation Medallion, took on the Applause name in 1976, and was first built in New Hartford, Connecticut before production later moved to Korea. The AE-36 paired a dreadnought-size bowl body with a cutaway and a built-in pickup, making it a go-to acoustic-electric for working players. Built around the same deep composite bowl that made Ovation famous, it delivers a big, projecting acoustic voice and easy-on-the-ribs comfort without the Ovation price tag, and the rounded back helps reduce standing waves inside the body for better feedback resistance when plugged in.

This AE-36 wears an attractive Greyburst finish (with a subtle green cast) over its dreadnought-size roundback bowl, with a comfortable single cutaway for upper-fret access and pearl diamond position markers along the bound rosewood fingerboard. The onboard under-saddle piezo pickup makes it just as ready for the stage as it is for playing around the living room. This one has clearly been well cared for and comes complete with its hardshell case for safe travel.

Very good condition overall, with some fret wear in the lower "cowboy chord" region, but it sets up and plays well. There is one small chip on the back of the headstock. The electronics are fully functional, and the guitar includes its molded hardshell case, a professional setup, and our setup checklist.
